The project of a private house Lauriston House in the small town of Kyneton, near the city of Victoria, Australia, designed in 2016 architectural Studio Seeley architects.
The house is located in a picturesque place on a hill surrounded by olive trees. The basic concept of the project was to create a home that interprets features of the surrounding landscape in architectural form. The architecture is based on a heavy console that makes it durable and reliable.
In the console floor includes a garage and utility room. The structural frame of the building is almost entirely made of glass, which visually makes the structure a light, almost airy. The house has an area of 380 square meters has a linear form of planning. In its centre is the entrance, which divides the house into two parts — the Western side is located the social area with the Eastern private. From the living room is equipped with luxurious deck cantilever, offering spectacular views of the hills, the dam and the olive groves. Bedrooms have sliding glass doors leading to the courtyard. However, the most unique feature of the building is the undulating roof that mimics the rolling hills of these places.
She literally hovers over the building, making the exterior a bright and unique. The underside of the roof are made of eucalyptus wood, so the house is warm. Inside curve wood ceiling looks soft and elegant, giving the interior a unique charm. Floors from natural wood and wooden ceilings make the space warm and cozy.
