Unsafe translation: hackers have learned to crack accounts via Google Translate

Небезопасный перевод: хакеры научились взламывать аккаунты через Google TranslateWith the help of a fake website that opens in Google Translate, hackers have tested the possibility to steal usernames and passwords of Google accounts.

The link to this site may be distributed in various ways, including via e-mail.

Not particularly attentive user will notice that it leads to a site google.com but won’t go into details and did not realize that this is actually an entirely different site, just opened it through Google translate.

The fake page is made as similar to the login page in to your Google account, and if the user enters a username and password, the data will be transferred to cyber criminals and sold or used for hacking. In the future, they can even get out in the open database leak and become available to anyone.

To protect themselves from such phishing attacks is very simple: do not click on links from suspicious senders, always pay attention to the addresses from which the letters come. And if all switched – look in the address bar and make sure that it is a real website and not a fake.
