Women’s national team of Ukraine on fencing on swords (Ksenia Panteleeva, Fabi Bajura, Anfisa Pochkalova and Julia Svitil) for the first time since 2009, won gold at the Universiade. On the way to the decisive match for the Ukrainian women were Japan (45:26), Switzerland (45:33) and Poland (45:38). In the final “blue-yellow” Quartet in overtime put the squeeze on team USA and brought Ukraine’s sixth gold at the games in Taipei.

After five days the world Universiade Ukraine is surely in the top 10 of the medal standings. Tomorrow in Taipei will be awarded medals in archery, athletics, diving, fencing, judo, swimming, Taekwondo and weightlifting.
