UNESCO has announced the launch in Crimea the direct monitoring results which CEO of the organization announced in a year.
This was written by the Ambassador of Ukraine to France Oleh Shamshur in Twitter.
“Today’s meeting of the Executive Board of UNESCO was an important event: officially announced that the first phase of direct monitoring by the organization of the situation in the occupied Crimea, the decision on the report of Director General on its findings in October next year”, – said the Ambassador.
He added that thanks those who voted for the adoption of this decision.
The solution, which was allowed to place a monitoring mission in the Crimea was accepted in April.
In early March, Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Chairman of the National Commission of Ukraine for UNESCO Sergey Kislitsa and UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azula discussed the possibility of imposing direct monitoring of the situation of cultural and historical heritage as a result of the Russian occupation of Crimea.
