Unemployment in the Eurozone reached a record low

The lowest level of unemployment in Germany, the Czech Republic and Poland, the highest in Greece and Spain, Eurostat said.

Unemployment in the Euro area dropped to 8.1 percent, the lowest figure in nearly a decade – since November 2008. On Monday, 1 October, Eurostat reported. In July of this year, the figure was 8.2 percent in August last year – 9 percent.

The unemployment rate in the EU 6.8 percent, in August last year it was 7.5 percent.

As of August of this year, the lowest unemployment rate in the Czech Republic – 2.5% but also in Germany and Poland (3.4 per cent). The highest unemployment rate in this month was recorded in Greece (19, 1%) and Spain (15.2 percent).

Among young people, according to Eurostat, unemployment in the EU was considered 3,315 million people, including in the Euro 2,367 million Here Eurostat took into account people under 25 years of age.

In comparison with August of last year, the number of young people unemployed in the EU fell by 431 thousand in the Euro area – 275 thousand people.
