On the night of 17 August, a mortar attack on the militants took the life of a soldier from the Kiev region.

On 16 August at about 23:00 as a result of mortar shelling of the Russian-terrorist troops in the industrial zone of the Town killed a soldier of the 72nd brigade of Sergei Pen. About this Facebook reported the press service of the 72 Ombre.

“Mortar shelling started, as always, suddenly. Sergei was on duty, and at this moment came a mine,” he told his colleagues, who immediately told the doctors about the wound of a comrade and gave him first aid.

According to the physician of the battalion, which maintained its position on this front, the soldiers did the right thing: put tourniquets on closed wounds, laid the wounded man on a stretcher and in the dark run took it to the car of medical.

“Then, in the stabilization center, where we rushed over, the surgeon said that the guy died there, in the trenches… Death was instantaneous and painless. But we didn’t know this and saved it as a living, until the last hoping that he’ll come around,” he told a military medic.

Soldiers recall of the deceased, as “reliable, brave and experienced soldier, who, when necessary, always helped out and went into battle without fear and loved to joke and was always smiling, no matter what”.

Sergei Pen came to the front of Bohuslav in Kiev oblast. At home he had a wife and 13-year-old daughter.
