Ukrzaliznytsya plans to upgrade more than 200 cars and trains

Ukrainian carrier seriously take care of the quality of their vehicles.

Five-year plan, PJSC “Ukrainian Railways” provides for the modernization and acquisition of 270 locomotives, partly in cooperation with General Electric.

This was reported to comments in the “UKRINFORM” the Director for economy and Finance of PJSC “Ukrainian Railways” Andrey Ryazantsev.

“270 locomotives — a plan of five years for modernisation and upgrade. This is a question that may not be fully resolved by General Electric, but that’s what the us within 5 years will need to be upgraded or replaced,” said Ryazantsev.

According to him, of the locomotives rekonstruiruet (they will replace the engines), and also planned to buy a new one.

“We’ll see what will be the difference in cost between upgrading and purchasing a new one. Accordingly, it will be possible to consider the economy of it all,” summarizes chief financial officer.
