From January 1, 2019, the postal service may stop delivering pension.
The postal service intends to discontinue delivery of pensions and close 5-7 thousand branches in rural areas from 1 January 2019 in case of unraised tariffs for delivery of pensions.
This was stated by the General Director of the postal operator Igor Smelyansky in an interview with the newspaper Uriadovyi Kurier.
“Delivery of pensions – rather sharp question, which depends on the format of the future performance of the company. In fact, this question will remain in the post office 11,5 thousand units thousand, or 4.3 […] We prepared an anti-crisis plan that would introduce November 1, if the rate is not adopted. This means that the postal service will be forced to optimize the network in the villages, built under the pension distribution. From 1 January 2019 will not deliver pensions, close 5-7 thousand in-patient departments, free of the administrative and production staff,” explained Smelyanskiy.
According to him, in November last year, the postal service appealed to the Ministry of infrastructure, Ministry of economic development and trade and the Ministry of social policy and the Pension Fund with a request for revision of the tariff.
“Since then, nothing has changed: our 17 cases are still unanswered. The rate has remained unchanged since 2004, we provide service at rates 14-year-old. Updating the pension rate is not incorporated in the draft budget for 2019. The pension Fund did this even after a meeting with President Petro Poroshenko, where was the need to maintain unique network of Ukrposhta. So more calls will not be”, – said the General Director of the company.
