The state Agency of highways of Ukraine plans to implement the project of the new highway Lviv – Budapest (Hungary) through the control checkpoint “Dyida” in the Transcarpathian region.
This reports the press service of “Ukravtodor”.
It is noted that in the framework of this project, “Ukravtodor” together with the world Bank started preparing a pre-feasibility study of the project of construction (reconstruction) of roads of I category Lviv – Mukacheve.
“This road will become the main artery for the export of Ukrainian goods to the countries of Eastern and southern Europe and a transit corridor for international trade through Ukraine, Belarus and the Baltic countries in Eastern and southern Europe, as well as provide a steady message of Transcarpathia with the other regions of Ukraine”, – stated in the message.
Now the road from Mukachevo to Lviv runs through difficult mountainous terrain, so driving it takes about 4 hours. A new highway will reduce the journey time to 2 hours.
This new highway will connect Lviv with the Hungarian motorway Budapest – Nyiregyhaza will be the main road corridor between Ukraine and Hungary.
