Experts of cyber police called simple ways which will help protect against network attacks.
The security service of Ukraine recently warned Ukrainians about the possibility of new attacks. This year, the Ukrainians have experienced several large-scale network attacks, viruses, and Petya WannaCry. Based on the recommendations provided by the specialists of postal and telecommunications and information technology during the past attacks, here are a few simple steps that will help keep your gadgets safe.
If you do not work with your computer, turn it off.
All critical data is saved on separate media.
Make sure your computer has antivirus software and used the actual database of virus signatures.
If you change the software settings, make sure that it has critical vulnerabilities and, perhaps, hidden functionality.
Refuse software or update it if it requires adding to the “exclude list” of computer system protection.
Pay close attention to the warnings of antivirus software.
In the case of receiving alarms from systems of computer protection (antivirus, firewall, etc.) don’t let the default actions of the antivirus (blocked, deleted, quarantined, etc.). Clearly realize that to avert the danger, reported by the antivirus only by a qualified specialist in information security.
Disable automatic updates and manually update the software, which further check on the authoritative resources is designed to analyze suspicious files. For example:

Pay close attention to all emails. Do not download or open attachments in emails that are sent from unknown addresses.
