MFA advises Ukrainians not to travel to Egypt on vacation.
The Ministry of foreign Affairs insistently recommends Ukrainian citizens to refrain from trips to Egypt. This is stated in a statement.
The foreign Ministry recommended to reconsider plans to visit Egypt for three months in connection with the introduction in the country since April 10, the state of emergency.
“These warnings are caused by a significant rise in Egypt of radical terrorist groups, including “Idil”, attacks which, as practice shows the last months, increasingly directed against civilians, including with regard to their religious affiliation,” the statement reads.
Those citizens who are already in Egypt, the Ministry recommends that you consider the risks and to observe a number of tips. In particular, Ukrainians urged not to travel to the North and in the Central part of the Sinai Peninsula, in the desert areas West of the valley of the river Nile.
In addition, diplomats are advised to be careful while visiting the North coast of Egypt, the country’s capital and the Delta of the river Nile, tourist places in its valley, the red sea coast (resorts of Hurghada, El Gouna, Safaga, Makadi Bay and Soma Bay) and the southern part of the Sinai Peninsula (the resort cities of Sharm El-Sheikh, Dahab, Taba).

We will remind, on April 9, Egypt has witnessed two terrorist attacks. The explosion in the Church of the city of Tanta killed nearly 30 people. The attack, allegedly carried out the suicide bomber, who came to the Church during the service. Later, another terrorist blew himself up at the entrance to the Church in Alexandria. It killed 16 people.
