The leadership of the new Ukrainian airlines SkyUp has no plans to compete with the leading air carrier of Ukraine – the company Ukraine International airlines (UIA).
This was stated by the owner of the company Yuri Alba.
In particular, the new carrier does not preclude code-sharing with MAU.
“I strive to ensure that competitors were not only competitors, but also colleagues and partners. If it so happens, and I’m sure it will be, possible, we will kosheritsa MAU” – said Alba.
Code-sharing is a joint commercial operation of flights of several airlines. Moreover, according to experts, for the UIA, which is gradually disappearing from the market of Charter flights, which plans to launch SkyUp, threats are not.
“MAU lately as gone from Charter operations, they are the most focused on regular flights”, – said General Director of consulting company Friendly Avia Support company Oleksandr Lanetskiy.
Aviaekspert Sergey Khizhnyak noted that the new Ukrainian low-cost airline could become a competitor to small Charter airlines. “If we talk about MAU, for her Charter segment is not so significant. Therefore, it is unlikely SkyUp will compete for the MAU. I think the emergence of new airlines big blow to small Charter carriers,” he said.
