Art historian Svetlana Rybalko may long to talk about the amazing Japanese culture, which she studies for about 30 years.

Japanese culture Svetlana Rybalko interested in his student years. “I was preparing for exams in the library and breaks were distracted by the reading of rare books and magazines. In one of them I found this great article on Japanese engraving. I got so carried away that every day to come to the library and wrote out new books and magazines on Japanese prints, and later persuaded his supervisor the topic of the course to devote to Japanese art”, — says Svetlana.
Kharkov first came to Japan in 2005 at the invitation of friends. “I went to study the collection, which is neither in Ukraine nor in Europe, but my most vivid impression was the people, way of life, and the ability to save humanity. In Japan all work 18-20 hours, and even in this mode, the people are very friendly, polite and show sympathy”, — said the art critic.
She has made nine expeditions to different parts of Japan, where he decided to study the kimono as an object in which a focused painting, literature, religion and history. In the collection of us — about twenty outfits: some of them gave her, while others she bought herself. The collection also artistic clothing, woven, embroidered by hand, for married and unmarried girls for the tea ceremony.
Some examples the Professor uses to teach students, demonstrates at workshops about putting on the kimono. As it turned out, to do this — a work which the master would take at least half an hour. According to Svetlana to wear kimono, you need strength of arms, discipline and consistency of action. All of the folds on the kimono is the exact location, and to wear a full set Japanese outfit, you need to use 8-9 different zones. And the suit needs to match the season, time and place.
In Japan, the kimono is usually are not combined with modern clothing, and in it’s entirety. “Even those Japanese who say that not wearing a kimono, there are at least five outfits. First time wearing kimono child on the fortieth day of life, when the child is taken to the Church to submit to the gods. Then at the age of three, five and seven years for the Shichi-go-San and coming of age day — 21. Also, the Japanese wear a kimono to a wedding, obtaining diplomas in the same outfit, they go to the other world”, told us Svetlana.
