Ukrainian unmanned armored vehicle passed the test.
“AvtoKrAZ” presented the prototype of an army armored vehicle the Spartan system of Autonomous driving Pilotdrive from Zaporozhye company “InfoCom Ltd”.
The car was tested on the territory of the factory range.
Prototype KrAZ Spartan is equipped with a set of special sensors that allow the car to navigate in space. In particular includes a thermal imager with automatic target acquisition and capture, the camcorder with 360 coverage, front and rear radar for detecting obstacles, a rangefinder and a capacitive sensor of human presence within a radius of 18 meters. As noted in the KrAZ system analysis and decision-making is triggered in a split second, allowing the car to instantly respond to obstacles. The machine can be controlled remotely using the tablet, “smart gloves” or operator station. The connection between the operator and the vehicle are carried out via digital channels of data transfer, WiFi/Wimax, the claimed range of 10 to 50 km.
In addition, the Spartan is equipped with a hardware-software complex “SmartDrive” and training system in real-time “Teach-inDrive”, which memorizes the control electronics set route.
Unmanned KrAZ Spartan is developed to help the military in a combat zone to minimize risks and preserve the life of the personnel to perform a variety of tactical tasks. According to the developers, the KrAZ vehicles on autopilot cope with the transport of ammunition, fuel and medicines, and will take away the wounded from the danger zone.
“As a rule, such movements are associated with greater risks to be lined, and a small and maneuverable drone KrAZ-Spartan knock out will not be easy. But even if you knock, people will not suffer”, – said at the Kremenchug automobile plant.
