Ukrainian companies increased the production of iron ore raw material

Also in July, increased daily average production of agglomerate at the iron and steel mills of Ukraine, making 75,68 thousand tons (+2,95 thousand tons) and 52,69 thousand tons (+3.0 thousand tons) respectively.

PEO experts noted that yenakiieve steel and MK Donetskstal will continue to work, supplying iron ore from Russia. Also resumed work DMK im. Dzerzhinsky.

The declared exports of Ukrainian iron ore in July 2017, according to the State fiscal service of Ukraine decreased by 198 thousand tonnes, or 5.5%, to 3384 tonnes Thus, with the beginning of the year total exports of about 22.7 million tons, which is 1.2 million tons lower than the same indicator for the year 2016. In geographical terms year-on-year, the biggest increase in supply in Slovakia (+637 kt).

It is worth noting that since the beginning of the year 932 thousand tonnes (90 tons in 2016) were delivered to Switzerland. Most likely, this raw material is re-exported to other regions. The largest drop was demonstrated by the increased exports to China (-3416 kt).

“In August, the situation with the smelting of cast iron has improved slightly – the average daily output increased by 2-2,5 thousand tons a day. The main reason for the resumption of DMK im. Dzerzhinsky. Enakievo ISW and MK Donetskstal, which continue to operate in uncontrolled territory”, – commented Dmitry Zheltyakov.

In July, prices of Ukrainian suppliers to foreign destinations declined slightly. It is expected that in August, there will be a rise in export prices following the dynamics of the indices in China. Prices in the domestic market of Ukraine, according to experts of UPE in August also can grow in a favorable market rental.
