Ukrainian banks began to take deposits

In January has decreased the amount of deposits in the national currency and in foreign currency.

The volume of hryvnia deposits in Ukrainian banks in January 2017 decreased by 2.3% to 415,9 billion. According to the operative data of the national Bank of Ukraine, foreign currency deposits also decreased by 1.8 to $ 13 billion.

“A significant factor in the reduction in balances on deposits in January was made by the high base effect in December 2016, due to significant budget expenditures at the end of the year, including advance payment of pensions, as well as a record refund of value added tax in cash,” – said the NBU.

We will remind, according to research, a third of the population of Ukraine does not hold their savings in commercial banks.
