The second day of the European athletics Championships in Belgrade brought Ukraine three awards at once.
Closer to victory at the continental forum in the sector for long jump got Sergey Nikiforov, who did not have all of one centimeter to win the gold. In qualifying Nikiforov updated personal record (8 and 18 meters), but in the final again to beat the Ukrainians failed.
The jumper in height Yulia Levchenko in correspondence confrontation with compatriot Oksana Okuneva won the bronze medal of the winter European championship. This medal was for 19-year-old Ukrainian’s first at senior level. The way to reward yourself Levchenko opened after updating the personal best (1.94 meters).
Marina Kilico in sector for pole vaulting shared the bronze with Swede Angelika Bengtsson. Kilico has never been the winner of major international tournaments.
