In Ukraine created a military reserve of 100 thousand people.
For half a year on service under the contract in Armed forces of Ukraine received 86 thousand people. This was stated by the Minister of defence Stepan Poltorak.
“For 2016 and beginning of 2017 to the troops under contract come 86 thousand troops, which suggests that the army is becoming professional. Contractors are motivated, trained, and have combat experience. And it allowed us today to abandon mobilization”, – said the Poltorak during the ceremony of graduation at the National defence University of Ukraine named. Ivan Chernyakhovsky, in Kiev.
The Minister noted that the number of contractors has also helped to create the reserve.
“We have created a 100-strong reserve, which for several days can take up arms. Every year, exercises are held”, – the Minister said and added that “we must be ready for change of scenery.”
