Ukraine will cease to operate the national standards

The Cabinet has amended the law “On standardization”.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine abolished the mandatory application of national standards.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of economic development and trade. Thus, the Cabinet adopted a resolution, which introduces changes to some legislative acts of Ukraine to harmonize them with the law “On standardization”, which the Verkhovna Rada adopted in February 2016.

New legislative changes set the voluntary use of national standards will override the need to harmonize the national standards with government agencies, repeal of industry standardization.

It is noted that the voluntary application of standards meets the requirements of the Agreement on technical barriers to trade world trade, as well as the European principles of standardization.

“In European practice to refer to specific standards in the legislation, in particular in EU directives, are isolated cases,” – said in the Ministry.

We will remind, since July 1, Ukraine abolished state regulation of prices for products.
