Nasalik appealed to the Ministry of Finance with a request to allocate funds for investment in extraction.
The Minister of energy and coal industry Igor Nasalik said that Ukraine is short of gas group coal to replace anthracite.
He said this at a government meeting.
“Today we feel the lack of gas group coal produced in the territory of Ukraine”, – said Nasalik.
He added that in 2017 the consumption of hard coal decreased by 3.5 million tons, the following should be reduced by 3 million tons.
Nasalik also appealed to the Ministry of Finance with a request to allocate funds for investments in production, as, according to him, over the last 4 years they were equal to zero.
Recall that in March, the energy Ministry predicted a decline in the consumption of anthracite coal in the energy sector by 40% to 6 million tonnes in 2017.
In July of this year Nasaliki declared that Ukraine will not need the anthracite coal group in six years.
