Targets of cyber attacks from Russia are European countries and the United States, the President said.
Ukraine can respond to cyberattacks from Russia. This was stated by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko at a joint press conference with his Finnish counterpart Sauli Niinisto in Helsinki on Tuesday, January 24.
“Russia makes a cyber attack not only against Ukraine, and it was confirmed. We have a very strong libertreserve, and therefore Ukraine can counterattack. But Ukraine is not the only target of cyber attacks: all European countries and the United States – the objects of cyberattacks, and this is an element of a hybrid war,” – said Poroshenko.
He stressed that this element of a hybrid war. “With the economic sanctions and cyber attacks, along with destabilization and annexation, we must be prepared for such challenges on the part of the Russian Federation”, – the President added.
Poroshenko said that after the illegal annexation of Crimea, the whole world’s security has changed. “It was based on the UN Charter, and one of the members of the UN violate these laws. So we have to come up with a new structure and new principles of global security,” he said.
