Ukraine is confident that the final status of Jerusalem should be determined only through negotiations
The Ukrainian position concerning Jerusalem is that its status must be determined by the results of the negotiation process and in accordance with resolutions of the UN security Council.
This was stated on Friday at a meeting of the security Council of the organization of the permanent representative of Ukraine to the United Nations Volodymyr Yelchenko, reports the correspondent of UKRINFORM.
“Ukraine is confident that the final status of Jerusalem should be determined only through negotiations and in the conditions of strict observance of the relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council,” – said the representative of Ukraine.
He also called on the international organization, including the special coordinator for the middle East peace settlement Nikolay Mladenov, as well as members of the middle East Quartet “to redouble efforts to resume negotiations and achieve progress in the middle East peace process.”
Recall, December 6, American President Donald trump said that the United States recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, and expressed its intention to move to this city the U.S. Embassy in that country.
