Ukrainian women’s team tennis in April will try to return to the elite of the Federation Cup.
On the eve of Ukrainian tennis players, led by 13th-ranked Elina Svitolina, in Kharkov with the score 3:1 beat Australia and made it to the playoffs World group fed Cup.
Tomorrow, February 14, will be held the draw for the playoffs of the World group of the fed Cup. Eight teams according to the current rating of the Federation Cup divided into two groups – the national team of Ukraine was not included in the sowing, but the opponent Michael Filimi will be France, Germany, the Netherlands or Spain.
Each of these teams lost in the 1/4 finals of the World group of the fed Cup. Only Germany and Spain have players in the top 10 of the WTA rankings – Angelique Kerber and Muguruza Garbinie respectively.
The national team of Ukraine for the first time since 2012, will try to return to the elite of the Federation Cup. The team has twice appeared in the World group – both times (2009 and 2011) Ukrainians in the 1/4 finals were lost against Italy.
