Steel production in Ukraine decreased by 16%.
Metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine in January-August has reduced steel output by 16% in the annual comparison, before 13,826 million tons, according to industry Association “Ukrmetallurgprom”.
Pig iron output decreased by 20%, to 12,772 million tonnes, output of finished steel fell by 18% to 11,806 million tons. As you know, this year Ukraine has lost a place in the top 10 world’s leading steel producers by the Association Worldsteel.
The President of “Ukrmetallurgprom” Alexander Kalenkov and the heads of the largest metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine has repeatedly noted the problems posed for their activities train state monopolist PJSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”.
Among them, poor maintenance gondola cars for shipment of raw materials and finished products to consumers, nesposobnosti to ensure proper intrinsivnoy of freight rail on the stretch Kamysh-Zarya – Volnovakha towards Mariupol metallurgical plants.
