Russia demanded consultations on sanctions in the world trade organization, thereby initiating a lawsuit against Ukraine.
Ukraine has received an official request from Russia for consultations at the WTO concerning the introduced Sanz Kiev against Moscow, reports UNN with reference to the Ministry of economic development and trade.
Russia has filed a lawsuit against Ukraine in WTO on may 20. Moscow believes that Kiev imposes sanctions, violating commitments to the world trade organization.
“On may 19, Ukraine received an official request from Russia for consultations in connection with, as stated, the Russian Federation, “the practice of trade restrictions” from the Ukrainian side”, – told in the Ministry.
It is noted that the specified requirement of Russia is to initiate a lawsuit against Ukraine in the framework of the dispute settlement mechanism of the WTO.
The Ministry reported that the already started procedures for the implementation of the analysis and processing of requirements of Russia.
The Ministry also stressed that Ukraine is a reliable trading partner and adheres to global standards of trading and the protection of Ukrainian exporters.
“Each intervention on the part of Ukraine on trade, economic and legal aggression of the Russian Federation are reasonable and consistent with the commitments undertaken by Ukraine when joining the WTO”, – concluded in the Ministry.
