The main reason why Ukraine got in the top five, the rapid growth of the share of electric cars among new cars.
Ukraine took fifth place in the international ranking in terms of development of electric vehicles, ahead of such countries as USA, Netherlands and Japan. According to the study, the largest edition of the electric vehicle InsideEVs.com faster electric transport develops only in Iceland, Sweden, Norway and China.
Every country who took part in the study received a certain number of points based on several criteria. Among them is political support for the development of “green” transport dynamics of the share of electric cars in the auto market, the pace of infrastructure development and so on. The maximum score that could be obtained is 100, but only two countries were able to cross the mark of 50 points for: Norway and China.
The main reason, according to which Ukraine scored almost 39 points and hit the top five, the rapid growth of the share of electric cars among new cars purchased by the Ukrainians last year. According InsideEVs.com among the cars registered for the first time in 2016 for electric vehicles account for 4%.
The magazine has estimated that over the past year this figure has increased fivefold, while the number sold during the year electric vehicles exceeded 2 500.
Ukraine is well ahead of other countries in Eastern Europe and the pace of development of infrastructure for electric vehicles. There is a private charging station, access to which is possible only with the consent of the owner and public, as well as dozens of fastcharge, mainly of Chinese origin.
In fifth place in the rating of Ukraine affected and little support electric vehicles by state. We are talking about the adoption in late 2015 bill No. 1674, abolished the import duty on electric cars.
