Ukraine has increased gas imports 65%

Four months of 2017, imports of natural gas increased.

In January-April 2017 Ukraine increased imports of natural gas is 64.7% (1 billion 870,8 million cubic meters) compared with the same period of 2016 – up to 4 billion 762.6 million cubic meters, according to the data of PJSC “Ukrtransgaz”.

According to the Agency Interfax-Ukraine, including from Slovakia in January-April-2017 it was imported 3 billion 949,5 million cubic meters, Hungary – 391,7 million cubic meters, Poland – 421,4 million cubic meters..

In April 2017, imports amounted 539,9 million cubic meters of gas, which is 2.2 times more than in April of last year (245 million cubic meters).

Ukraine does not import natural gas under the contract with JSC Gazprom from 26 November 2015, when purchasing online exclusively on its Western border.

As reported, Ukraine in 2016 reduced the import of natural gas by 32.7% (5 billion 375,6 million cubic meters) compared to 2015 year – on-year to 11 billion of 78.4 million cubic meters.

Ukraine in January 2016 imported 914,8 million cubic meters of gas, February – 1 billion 253.7 million cu. m, March – 478,4 million cubic meters, April – 245 million cubic meters, may to 96.4 million cubic metres, June to 19.7 million cubic meters, July – 409,6 million cubic meters, in August – 1 billion 414,5 million cubic meters, in September, 1 billion 495,9 million cubic meters, the Oct – 1 billion 544,5 million cubic meters, November 1 billion 546,6 million cubic meters, December – 1 billion 659,4 million cubic meters.

Ukrtransgaz, 100% owned by NJSC “Naftogaz of Ukraine”, operates a system of trunk pipelines and 12 underground gas storages of the country.
