Today, November 10 is world youth day and world science day for peace and development. We will talk about the holidays that can be celebrated in Ukraine and the world today.
World youth day
November 10 is world youth day. This day was established in honor of the founding of the world Federation of democratic youth (World Federation of Democratic Youth, WFDY). In 1945, 10 November, at the London world conference of youth took the decision to establish this day. It was the first large-scale youth conference, it was attended by representatives of the international youth movement, which brings together more than 30 million young people of different nationalities, religions and political ideologies.
World Federation of democratic youth struggles for peace, youth rights, the independence of peoples and opposes racism and fascism. The most famous event of the festival is the festival of youth and students that each time it gathers a huge number of participants from around the world.
World science day for peace and development
World science day is celebrated every year on 10 November with the aim to inform the world community, the global contribution of science to the development of civilization. Also the purpose of this day is the renewal of the national and international commitments in the field of using science for the benefit of society.
The Day of science was recommended in the 1999 world science conference in Budapest. At the conference spoke of the need for closer interaction between science and society. UNESCO officially established the world science day in 2001. About the organization of this day every year UNESCO has been working with government organizations and research teams.
On this day festive events are held such as open days at research institutions and educational institutions, organization of visits to museums and exhibitions, lecturing in vocational institutions about science and its important contribution to society. Each year the events of the Day are devoted to different science topics.
