Uber will purchase 24 thousand cars Volvo for unmanned taxi

This will happen in three years.

During 2019-2021. Volvo sell 24,000 cars for Uber taxis to drones.

Volvo will supply for Uber premium crossovers XC90. The cost of one such car was about $46 thousand Cars will be equipped with basic devices for Autonomous control. To ensure perfect functioning of the unmanned taxi, Uber will develop special sensors and software.

Uber are considering an agreement with Volvo as a turning point in the development of unmanned technology. Not the first time Uber is trying to introduce drone technology. The company had previously launched unmanned taxi in Arizona. In March 2017 the drone Uber got in an accident and overturned.
