Uber refused to open the headquarters in Kiev

After the merger with Yandex in Russia Uber will not make the headquarters of the CIS in Kiev.

Despite the fact that Ukraine is not part of the merger of the Russian company Yandex.Taxi and Uber, the American company abandoned plans to open in Kiev headquarters in the CIS.

About it reported in a press-service of Uber.

“The business of the company [Uber – ed.] in Ukraine is not part of this transaction, but it will still affect the plans of Uber in the country. In particular, the opening in Kiev, the headquarters of the CIS, which was announced earlier,” the newspaper notes.

Earlier, Uber had planned to open inter-regional headquarters in Kyiv, where the company will manage the operation of the service, not only in Ukraine, but also in Azerbaijan, Belarus and Kazakhstan.

However, because Uber businesses in Azerbaijan, Belarus and Kazakhstan participate in the deal with Yandex, which is under sanctions in Ukraine, it is obvious that to run a business in these countries from Ukraine will become impossible.
