So, the experts of the Atlantic Council managed to get to the root of one of these fakes on the alleged “power” of the Russian army, the plane of which in the Black sea was neutralized, the US destroyer “Donald cook”.

Like most fake stories, this “news” was the beginning of the truth.

We are talking about the incident that happened on 12 April 2014, when a Russian plane is really close to the American ship unacceptably close, and then the Pentagon made a statement.

But in April, three years after the events of the story again aired on Russian state television, the truth is totally distorted.

In the story of the events, according to Russia, said that Russian aircraft allegedly used an “electronic weapons” and knocked out all systems on the Bor destroyer “Donald cook”.

It was fake, but it very quickly spread even when global sentiment to combat counterfeiting.

Propaganda invention spread gradually over three years. So, a few days after the incident, the Russian writer Dmitry Sedov wrote a satirical work in which the story led on behalf of a member of the crew “Donald cook”.

In the story he described a fantastic episode of electronic warfare which has caused shock and panic among lyrical. Subsequently, this bike has spread to Facebook in English and Russian languages as letters of an American soldier.

The experts of the Atlantic Council found posts with fake due to its specific technical words. The authors note that Facebook helps advocates to spread the fake “news”.

After that, the press Secretary announced that the social network is trying to fight the spread of misinformation, however, on 15 April 2017 in the Russian program “Vesti” was literally quoted satirical fable written Sedov.

But that means nothing, because hundreds of thousands of users in social networks and alternative news sites, especially those that support anti-American and antiglobalisti narrative, already shared it.
