The perpetrators admitted their mistakes
The national Council on television and radio broadcasting at a meeting on 20 July 2017 adopted the decision on collecting of fines to two broadcasters, “Gromadske radio” and “Bukovina wave” in the ether which recorded the violation of the requirements of part two of article 9 of the law of Ukraine “On television and radio broadcasting “.
Validation of the enterprise of public organization “Gromadsky Radio”, which was conducted by specialists of the National Council on 2 April this year, recorded that in the air broadcaster in the time period from 15: 00-22: 00, the proportion of Ukrainian songs was 0%. The company must pay a penalty of 5% of the total amount of the license fee is 1751,36 UAH.
In OOO “Bukovina wave”, m. Chernivtsi, share songs in the state language in the period of time from 15:00 to 22:00 on the day of inspection 2 June 2017 was 24.7%. For this violation the broadcaster will pay a fine in the amount of UAH 4 420,50.
It is noted that both broadcasters admitted their error and assured that in future such unfortunate cases, they in the air will not.
Recall that the legislation provide that the broadcasters in the first year of the entry into force of the law needs to provide a fraction of the songs in the state language in the amount of not less than 25 percent of the total amount of songs distributed throughout the day, and at least 25 percent of the total amount of songs distributed in each time period between 07.00 and 14.00 h and between 15.00 and 22.00.
