Kurdish forces in Iraq fighting against Islamic state, but Turkey fears a Kurdish state on its borders.
The Turkish air force struck blows to objects of the combat units of the PKK (the Kurdistan workers ‘ party – ed.) in the areas of Kandil and Avasin-Basyan in Northern Iraq.
In the air strikes destroyed 16 the fortifications of the Kurds, reports the Turkish General staff.

The U.S. and the European Union made the PKK to list of terrorist organizations. Members of the PKK repeatedly launched armed attacks on government agencies and citizens of Turkey.
