Turkish authorities presented a plan for tourism development until 2023.
Despite the difficult 2016 year, which was marked by serious financial loss, Turkey optimistic about the future. This year the country expects to increase tourist flow not only from the CIS and Europe, but for the longer term, the country has ambitious plans.
By 2023, Turkey plans to receive 100 million tourists will leave the country 100 billion dollars, reports local portal Hurriyet daily news.
To achieve these goals, Turkey is going to develop a non-touristy regions of the country. Investment in new areas will begin with the development of the Tarsus in the Eastern Mediterranean, designed for tourists from the CIS countries and Europeans.
The second area — from the airport of Trabzon to airport of Ordu-Giresun on the Black sea for the tourists from the countries with a hot climate, mainly for residents of Arab countries.
The third area in which Turkey is investing in the future cultural corridor of the West in the inner Anatolia, designed for tourists from around the world.
New areas need 150 000 beds in hotels, plus investments in infrastructure: construction of airports, roads, hospitals, shopping malls and so on.
According to the Development Bank for the development of each territory requires from 18 to 20 billion dollars.
