Turkey does not recognize annexation of Crimea, despite warming relations with Russia.
The Minister of foreign Affairs of Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu said that despite the thaw in relations with Russia, there remain differences on matters of principle.
He stated in a speech at the Munich security conference.
Our policy is based on principles. Even before the incident (shooting down a Russian aircraft in 2015 – ed) we had issues (relations with Russia), associated with the Crimea. We did not accept the annexation of Crimea. We have different views on the Assad regime, and these differences persisted, explained Cavusoglu.
