Turchinov told about the implementation of the main requirements of the Maidan

A more difficult question is the construction of a European democratic state.

Three years later, after the revolution of dignity in Ukraine, we can say that the main requirements of participants of the Maidan today.

This was stated by Secretary of national security Council and defense Oleksandr Turchynov in an interview with the Censor.NO.

According to Turchynov, one of the main tasks that confront the Revolution of dignity, was to prevent the prolongation of the Ukraine into the Russian Empire.

“It was a question of the existence of Ukraine as a democratic, independent state. Yes, blood, Yes, through the ordeals, through military action, but we defended their independence. We snatched the country from the sticky tentacles of the Imperial octopus, and there’s no turning back: the bridges are burned. Therefore, we fulfilled the main requirement of the Maidan,” – said the NSDC Secretary.

According to him, the main requirements of participants of revolution of dignity performed, despite the large number of errors and unresolved issues.

“The scene I always read and put to the vote the National Assembly of the resolution of independence. I remind you of the basic requirements: the resignation of security forces in conflict with the law, the resignation of President Yanukovych and Azarov’s government, the restoration of the illegally abolished the democratic Constitution of 2004, the holding of early presidential and parliamentary elections, the signing of the Association Agreement with the EU. All these requirements were fulfilled”, – said Turchinov.

A more difficult question, according to him, is – to build a European democratic state.

“It was not in resolutions, but all who stood on the Maidan, I realized that this is why we need European integration. Not everything turns out the way I wanted. Here war makes great adjustments. But, on the other hand, Europe is another. And the world in General, in the global whirlwind of changes very quickly and erratically changing. At the same time, let’s be honest – not the best way. Therefore, making conclusions, it is necessary to consider all these large-scale complex and dynamic processes. But from my side it would be unfair to say that we did everything we could… Probably could have done much more, but, unfortunately, a subjective factor has not been canceled,” – said Turchinov.
