In Belarus Russia will check the readiness of its troops to conduct large-scale operations.
During the joint military exercises “West-2017” in Belarus, the Russian army will work the offensive in Poland and Lithuania.
This opinion was expressed by the Secretary of national security Council and defense Oleksandr Turchynov said in comments Liga.net.
According to him, in Belarus Russia will check the readiness of its troops to conduct large-scale operations in a strict time restrictions on the preparation of the offensive.
Exercises are also planning to work on the construction of Kaliningrad corridor, which in reality is impossible without aggression against Lithuania and Poland, – said Turchinov.
According to the Secretary of the national security Council, Moscow does not hide that one of the priorities is the restoration of the borders of Russia in the former Soviet Union.
“It’s no secret, it’s Russian propaganda, intelligence agencies and security forces. But the attempt to return in its orbit Ukraine, which is, according to Brzezinski, the basic element, without which the resuscitation of the Empire is impossible – they have obviously stalled,” – said Alexander Turchinov .
In his opinion, the Kremlin may also exacerbate the conflict in the Donbass because of the events in Syria. In particular, due to the fact that Russia is not ready for a military confrontation with the United States in the middle East. But will probably react to this, Russia is the escalation in the Donbass.
The NSDC Secretary added that we should not forget about the constant threat of full-scale Russian offensive, which has existed for more than three years.
Three years ago, and now we have to count primarily on themselves. Our task – to be prepared for any eventuality and be ready to defend the country from a full-scale aggression of Russia, – said Turchinov.
