Turchinov announced the goal of missile exercises near Crimea

According to Turchynov, “the purpose of these complex exercises and tests was testing of the system mnogosloinoi air defense, the determination of the ways of modernization of antiaircraft missile complexes, standing on the arms of the APU, and objectives for the development of new means of defense”.

According to the NSDC, the live-fire exercises were held at the site of the APU Yagorlyk in the Kherson region. In the exercises using a wide range of anti-aircraft missiles (s-300 of various modifications, Buk, tor, OSA-AKM and others) participated in air defence units of the Land forces and air defense forces of the APU.

Also been conducted control tests anti-aircraft missile systems, modernization of the past at the enterprises of the military-industrial complex.

Turchinov said that the Ukrainian military during carrying out the firings demonstrated a high skill and professionalism, effectively destroying air targets at a different range, “and modernized anti-aircraft missiles have confirmed the declared tactical and technical characteristics”.
