Trump has signed the law on the protection of human rights in Hong Kong, which caused dissatisfaction of China

The law “On the protection of human rights and democracy in Hong Kong” was passed by both houses of Congress, received the signature of the President of the United States Donald trump.

 

In addition, trump signed a ban on shipments to Hong Kong of certain police equipment, according to the official statement of the President of the United States.

 

As noted in the statement, trump signed both documents “out of respect for the President XI (Jinping), China and the people of Hong Kong.” The US government hoped that China and Hong Kong will be able to “peacefully resolve disputes” and to achieve “long-term peace and prosperity for all.”

 

Signed trump the law involves the imposition of sanctions against persons associated with the violation of human rights in Hong Kong, as well as an annual review of trade relations with Hong Kong, depending on its autonomy.

 

Earlier, Chinese foreign Ministry expressed protest in connection with this bill, calling it interference in the internal Affairs of China.
