Trump has declared a state of emergency in health care USA
Thursday, October 26, the President of the United States Donald trump has declared a state of emergency in the health sector in connection with the distribution in the country of opiates.
“Today my administration officially announces the crisis with opiates state of emergency in the health sector in accordance with Federal law, and I direct all Executive agencies to employ all relevant emergency powers to deal with the opioid crisis,” he said, speaking at the White house.
In his statement, trump said, “last year due to overdose of drugs killed 64 thousands of Americans.” He also added that “in terms of per capita the U.S. is the largest consumer of opiates in the world.”
“For too long we have allowed drugs to destroy the American home and the city,” he said.
According to trump, more than 90% of opioids comes from the southern regions on the other side from the us border.
“It’s amazing, but 90% of heroin brought to America from South of the border, where we are going to build a wall,” he added.
Previously, trump has announced its intention to declare in the country state of emergency in connection with rising cases of drug abuse.
