The SBU issued an official release on the arrest of an employee of the Cabinet.
In the SBU stated that the detainee interpreter, Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman collected information on the mission of the GRU of the General staff of the Russian Federation.
This was stated by Deputy head of IC SBU Vitaly Beacons.
“The main investigation Department (SBU – Ed.) in the course of criminal proceedings documented the activities of the employee of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, which pursuant to the instructions of the representatives of special services of Russia, namely the Main intelligence Directorate of the Armed forces of the Russian Federation, collected service information of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine”, – quotes the representative of the SBU Interfax-Ukraine.
Beacon said that the detainee had been gathering information regarding foreign travel and foreign conversations of the Prime Minister, during personal meetings and by e-mail transferred to representatives of Russian special services.
20 Dec SBU detained the official of the Secretariat of the Cabinet, which was “a spy of the Russian intelligence services”.
Later it became known that he was the translator of the Prime Minister Groysman, Stanislav Yezhov.
