Torchlight “March of the brave” was held in Zaporozhye. Video

In Zaporizhia, about 300 people with torches marched through the city centre March.

They celebrated the 99th anniversary of the liberation of the city from the Bolsheviks, Colonel of the army of the Ukrainian people’s Republic by Peter Bolbochan.

The majority of participants of the action called “March of the brave” was presented by local national-Patriotic organizations: the national housing Svoboda, the Right sector. Joined ATO veterans and volunteers.
According to participants of the torchlight procession, their action dedicated to the 99th anniversary of the Crimean campaign of UNR Colonel Peter Bolbochan, during which, in April 1918, troops of the Ukrainian people’s Republic of Zaporozhye released (at the time – Aleksandrovsk – ed.) from the Bolsheviks.

“No wonder Peter Balbacana called the “iron Colonel” – he was the commander of the Zaporozhian corps of the army of the UPR. 14 April 1918, it is the division of the Ukrainian army under his command liberated the Left-Bank Ukraine, Zaporozhye, Melitopol. And at the end of April from Moscow-Bolshevik gangs were liberated the Crimea. Then in Sevastopol, the Navy was raised the Ukrainian flag. It is important to know modern Ukrainians”, – said one of the organizers of the rally Maxim Zaychenko.

During the March along the Central Avenue of Zaporozhye activists chanted Patriotic slogans and urged the countrymen to remember the glorious history of their country, and also to cleanse the Ukrainian land from the Russian invaders.
