The former EU representative in Kyiv concerned at the neglect of our country.
The topic of Ukraine this year almost absent in discussions of international organizations. This was stated by the Chairman of the EU delegation to the Vatican, former Ambassador of EU in Ukraine Jan Tombinski during the National forum “the Transformation of Ukraine” in Kiev.
“Over the past year I see Ukraine as the distance – from the perspective of the discussions, developments that involved the Vatican, the international organizations, particularly the UN, and I saw that the theme of Ukrainian is almost absent in the discussions… There is a belief that the development of the world does not depend on the solution to this conflict (in Eastern Ukraine – ed.) and that the aggression of Russia against Ukraine and what happened in Ukraine does not affect the future of the world. And we need to do something,” – said Tombinsky.
“We need through this forum to find the method how to connect what is happening in Ukraine, with those big problems, and show that Ukraine can be part of the solution, not part of the problem. Part of the solution can be achieved by the fact that the war in Ukraine will be won by Ukraine, it will be won by the fact that Ukraine itself will be on your feet and be a country that will give justice and a future for its citizens,” – said Tombinsky.
