Ukrainian champion Shakhtar is the only Ukrainian representative in the Champions League 2017-2018.
Due to the double triumph of real Madrid in last season (Champions League+Spanish Primera division) Shakhtar at the group stage draw will be in the first basket. Thus, the team of Paulo Fonseca at the group stage of the Champions League will avoid a meeting with the national Champions last season.
