To the Crimea to bypass sanctions brought turbine Siemens

At Siemens deny the fact of delivery of the equipment to the Peninsula.

Gas turbines of the German company Siemens Russia sent to Crimea, despite the fact that the EU has banned European companies to supply energy technologies on the Peninsula.

This is with reference to sources reported by Reuters.

The turbines were produced at the joint with the Russian concern “Power machines” plant “Siemens gas turbine technology”. According to the contract, delivered by turbine intended for the power plant on the Taman Peninsula of Russia. However, the competition for the construction of TPP Taman has not taken place from-for absence of demands.

In March the German company stated that the equipment was delivered to the Taman, but, according to sources Reuters, two of the four turbines was in Sevastopol, where they intend to install at the local power plant.

To establish whether delivery of the equipment with the knowledge or consent of Siemens, failed, but now the company could face charges of violating sanctions policy of the European Union.

Krost has rejected the shipment of its gas turbines on the territory of the annexed Peninsula. The energy Ministry of Russia refused to comment.

Siemens last year denied the possibility of supplying turbines in Crimea, insisting that the turbines designed for the Taman project and he had no reason to think that they’ll go somewhere else. The group also claimed that respects and does not intend to violate the sanctions regime.
