The US President-elect lamented that the countries members of the Alliance do not Fund it properly.
The US President-elect Donald trump called NATO is important, but outdated organization because she was not involved in terrorism, the Times writes, who took an interview with trump.
“I have long said that NATO has problems. (Problem) number one – it is outdated as it was founded many years ago. The two countries are not paying what they should pay. It is outdated as it did not care about terrorism,” said trump.
He noted that notwithstanding the foregoing, “NATO is very important for him.”
“Britain pays. There are five countries that pay what they should. Five. It’s a little… out of 22 (meaning the 28 NATO countries),” — said the President-elect of the United States.
During the election campaign, trump promised to reconsider the U.S. commitment to NATO if the other members of the unit will not raise defense spending to 2% of its GDP, as agreed earlier.
