In the capital of Peru, Lima, several women gathered in the Park for a symbolic marriage to a tree.
The bride vowed to follow their green grooms, till death do them part.
The leader of the environmental organization “Green heart” Richard Torres, who performed at the ceremony the role of the priest, declared the marriage valid and allowed to kiss the spouses in the trunk. After that attendees showered the “married” leaves.
According to the concept of Torres, the ceremony will remind the residents of Peru that trees are important and need care. He’s planning a similar wedding in other countries and hopes that in this way he will be able to save thousands of trees.
