Scientists photographed men and women aged 18 to 47 years after the two nights of the 8-hour sleep. Then these images were made again a week later after two nights of 4-hour sleep. Each photo depicted all the people had to pose without any jewelry and cosmetics. Evaluation of the degree of attractiveness depicted in the photographs gave a group of 122 volunteers who were recruited at random. They were asked to rate such factors as appearance, health, friendliness, and the ability of a person to inspire confidence.

It turned out that the precipitating people look the most attractive and healthy for the environment. According to the authors of the study, lack of sleep makes your face look more pale, the skin wrinkled, and it enhances the appearance of dark circles, which negatively affects the degree of attractiveness of a person. The only characteristic that did not change people regardless of how much time they spent on sleep, the ability to inspire confidence.
