Regular consumption of apples reduces the risk of colon cancer, according to Polish researchers.
Scientists conducted the study, which involved 592 patients with cancer and 765 healthy people.
Experts have studied the diet of all participants. It turned out that the risk of colon cancer was reduced by 50% in those who ate more than one daily Apple.
Apples contain a variety of heterocyclic oxygen-containing compounds, which do not allow free radicals to damage tissues and prevent the occurrence of cancer and proliferation of tumor cells, the researchers said.
