Italian Countess Virginia di Castiglione took in history as the “grandmother” of all models, since 1856, began to work with photographer Pierre-Louis Pierson.
At that time the creative Duo broke all decency and beyond the pale: the model has adopted an ambiguous posture and even bare feet. The Countess was considered an incredible beauty – her contemporaries called her “a goddess descended from Olympus.”
